Residential Pick-Ups
Residential pick-ups are organized through Patreon with a sliding scale $2-$10 subscription
How It Works
On the second Sunday of the month we pick up cans, and (clean) containers! We send a text reminder, and on the pick-up day, subscribers leave their cans and containers in (separate) plastic, tied up bags in front of the house. Then we pick them up, and we bring the cans to EMR (metal scrapping) to recycle them for cash on Monday. Then we use the cash to buy food to fill the containers to put in the New Orleans Community Fridges.
Pick-Up Reminders
Plastic containers must be clean and be full sets (i.e. no containers with missing lids).
We like when you group your similar containers/lids stacked together with rubber bands :)
We don’t take glass, plastic bottles, paper, juice jugs, fruit containers with holes, or flat sushi containers.
Aluminum cans should be empty and crushed.
We don’t take food cans/tin containers, foil, or baking sheets/trays.
